  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 24 servings

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 24 Pretzel Rods
  • 4 ounces red candy melts
  • 4 ounces royal blue candy melts
  • 4 ounces white candy melts
  • Red, white, and blue star sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Melt Candy Melts: Melt each color of candy melts separately in a tall glass. Use the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring thoroughly between intervals until the candy melts are fully melted and smooth.
  2. Dip Pretzel Rods: Dip 8 pretzel rods into the royal blue candy melt, coating them evenly. Place these dipped pretzels on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, wax paper, foil, or a wire rack to set.
  3. Dip Remaining Rods: Repeat the dipping process with 8 pretzels in the red candy melts and the remaining 8 in the white candy melts. Place all on the prepared cookie sheet for setting.
  4. Decorate with Drizzle and Sprinkles: Using a fork, drizzle contrasting colored candy melts over the pretzel rods to create a decorative effect. Immediately sprinkle the red, white, and blue star sprinkles on top to adhere to the melted candy.
  5. Allow to Set: Let the dipped and decorated pretzel rods cool completely. You can leave them at room temperature for about 1 hour or place them in the refrigerator for approximately 30 minutes for quicker setting.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Once fully set, serve these vibrant and festive pretzel rods as a delightful treat at your 4th of July celebration.

Notes

  • Use tall glasses to melt the candy melts to easily dip the pretzel rods.
  • If the candy melts become too thick while dipping, microwave for an additional 10-15 seconds to re-melt.
  • Customize your sprinkles to suit other holidays or themes.
  • Store finished pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain crispness.
  • Be gentle when dipping to avoid breaking the pretzel rods.
