Ingredients
Quinoa Mixture
- 1 cup quinoa
- 1 tablespoon vegan butter (or butter/ghee)
- 2 - 3 teaspoons Simply Organic Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 cups vegetable broth
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add quinoa, vegan butter, garlic powder, sea salt, and vegetable broth to a small saucepan.
- Bring to Boil: Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally until the butter has melted.
- Simmer: Once boiling, cover the saucepan and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer gently for 15 minutes until the quinoa is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
- Rest and Fluff: Remove the saucepan from heat and uncover. Use a fork to fluff the quinoa gently to separate the grains.
- Let Stand: Allow the quinoa to rest for 5 minutes, which helps to firm up the texture before serving.
- Serve: Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy as a savory side or base for meals.
Notes
- You can adjust garlic powder according to your preference for more or less garlic flavor.
- Using vegetable broth instead of water adds extra depth and richness to the quinoa.
- For non-vegan, butter or ghee can be used instead of vegan butter for a richer flavor.
- Make sure to rinse quinoa before cooking to remove its natural bitterness, although it's optional if using pre-rinsed quinoa.
- Quinoa can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days in an airtight container.
