  • Total Time: 33 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • Chicken Wings:
  • 14 chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon avocado oil
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Ranch Dressing:
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ⅛ cup buttermilk (or whole milk + ¼ tsp vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried chives
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Pat wings dry with paper towel.
  3. Place wings, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes in a ziplock bag. Seal and shake until evenly coated.
  4. Coat air fryer basket with avocado oil.
  5. Place seasoned wings in an even layer in the air fryer basket. Brush wings lightly with the remaining oil (use a clean brush from this point forward).
  6. Cook for 12 minutes, flip, and cook an additional 12–15 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. Brush cooked wings with barbecue sauce and honey mixture using a clean pastry brush.
  8. Cook for another 4–6 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F and juices run clear.
  9. If using frozen wings, add an extra 5 minutes to the initial cooking time.
  10. Top cooked wings with chopped parsley before serving.
  11. Ranch Dressing: In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, lemon juice, and remaining dressing ingredients until smooth. Chill until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Make sure to pat the wings dry for crispier skin.
  • Do not reuse the same brush used for raw chicken when applying sauce to cooked wings.
  • Homemade ranch dressing keeps in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • For spicier wings, add more red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the BBQ glaze.
