Ingredients
Potatoes
- 1 lb baby or creamer potatoes
Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon seasoning salt (or regular salt and pepper)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer: Turn the air fryer to 400℉ and let it preheat for 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Prepare the potatoes: Halve the potatoes to allow quicker cooking. You can leave them whole if preferred, but they will require longer cooking time.
- Toss with oil and seasoning: In a bowl, toss the halved potatoes with the canola or vegetable oil and seasoning salt until they are evenly coated.
- Air fry the potatoes: Place the potatoes in the basket of the air fryer, spreading them out in a single layer. Cook at 400℉ for 10 minutes.
- Shake and continue cooking: Open the basket and shake the potatoes to promote even cooking, then cook for an additional 5 minutes at 400℉. Check doneness by piercing a potato with a sharp knife; if firm, cook 2-3 minutes more until tender.
- Serve: Once cooked through and crispy, serve the air fryer potatoes hot as a delicious side dish.
Notes
- You can use regular salt and add freshly ground black pepper instead of seasoning salt.
- For larger potatoes, consider longer cooking time or cutting them into smaller pieces for faster cooking.
- Shake the basket halfway through cooking for more even crispiness, especially when cooking larger batches.
- Customize seasoning with garlic powder, paprika, or herbs for extra flavor.
