Ingredients
Potatoes
- 1 and ½ pounds potatoes, cut into 1 inch pieces
Seasoning and Oil
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder or granules
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic granules, salt, and black pepper. Ensure that each potato piece is thoroughly coated with the seasoning and oil mixture.
- Air fry the potatoes (First half): Place the seasoned potatoes evenly in the basket of the air fryer. Roast them at 380°F (195°C) for 10 minutes without preheating.
- Flip and continue roasting: After 10 minutes, use tongs or a turner to carefully flip the potatoes to ensure even cooking and crisping on all sides. Avoid shaking the basket to prevent breaking the potatoes. Roast for an additional 10 minutes at the same temperature.
- Serve: Remove the potatoes from the air fryer once they are golden and crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Serve hot as a side dish or appetizer.
Notes
- You don’t need to preheat the air fryer, but preheating for 5 minutes can result in crispier potatoes.
- If using starchy potatoes, soak them in cold water for 10-15 minutes before cooking to remove extra starch, then pat dry to prevent steaming inside the air fryer.
- Use tongs or a turner to flip the potatoes halfway through cooking instead of shaking the basket to avoid breaking the pieces and ensure even roasting.
- Serve the potatoes hot alongside your favorite main dishes or as a tasty appetizer.
