A quick and delicious snack with sliced apple rings dipped in sweet pancake batter, fried until crisp, and coated with cinnamon-sugar. A fun fall treat perfect for kids and adults alike!

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: undefined

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk (or Sugar-Free Hazelnut Creamer)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 large apples, sliced into 1/4-inch thick rings with cores removed
  • Canola oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and whisk until a smooth batter forms. Set aside.
  4. Slice apples into 1/4-inch thick rings and remove the cores using a small round cutter.
  5. Heat canola oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Dip each apple ring in the batter, allowing the excess to drip off, then carefully place in the hot oil.
  7. Fry the rings in batches for 1–2 minutes per side or until golden brown. Flip once during frying.
  8. Remove fried apple rings and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  9. In a shallow bowl or plate, combine the sugar and cinnamon.
  10. While still warm, sprinkle or roll apple rings in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  11. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Serve with caramel sauce or whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
  • To make it more kid-friendly, use a fun cookie cutter shape to cut out the centers.
  • Eat while hot for best texture!
