Ingredients
Base
- 1 cup spinach
- ½ cup low-fat cottage cheese
- ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
Fruits & Add-ins
- 1 cup frozen wild blueberries
- 1 serving vanilla protein powder (Equip recommended)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (or hemp hearts)
- Maple syrup, to taste
Instructions
- Blend Base Ingredients: Combine spinach, low-fat cottage cheese, and unsweetened almond milk in your blender. Blend until smooth and creamy with no leafy bits of spinach visible.
- Add Remaining Ingredients: Add frozen wild blueberries, vanilla protein powder, lemon juice (if using), chia seeds, and maple syrup to the blender. Blend again until fully combined and smooth.
- Adjust Consistency: Taste the smoothie and add extra almond milk or water if a thinner consistency is preferred. Blend briefly to mix.
- Serve Immediately: Pour into a glass and enjoy your nutritious blueberry cottage cheese smoothie fresh for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Using frozen blueberries helps keep the smoothie cold and thick without the need for ice.
- Lemon juice brightens and enhances the flavor but is optional.
- Adjust maple syrup quantity according to desired sweetness or skip for a lower sugar smoothie.
- Swapping chia seeds with hemp hearts changes texture slightly but offers similar nutritional benefits.
- Use low-fat cottage cheese to reduce fat content, or full-fat for creamier texture.
- This smoothie is best consumed immediately for optimal freshness and nutrition.
