Ingredients
Slider Base
- 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls (12 count), (I used King’s Hawaiian brand)
Buffalo Chicken Filling
- 3 cups finely shredded cooked chicken, (from 2½-3 pound rotisserie chicken)
- ¾ cup buffalo wing sauce
- 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix, (I used Hidden Valley brand)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- ½ cup blue cheese crumbles
Butter Topping
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a small 9x13-inch rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil to make cleanup easier and set aside.
- Prepare the rolls: Slice the entire sheet of Hawaiian sweet rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves intact without separating the rolls.
- Arrange bottom rolls: Place the bottom half of the rolls in the center of the prepared baking sheet. Set the top half aside temporarily.
- Make the buffalo chicken mixture: In a bowl, combine the finely shredded cooked chicken with the buffalo wing sauce and 1 tablespoon of ranch seasoning mix. Stir until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
- Assemble the sliders: Evenly spread the buffalo chicken mixture over the bottom layer of rolls. Then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and blue cheese crumbles evenly over the chicken layer.
- Add the top buns: Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls onto the sliders and gently press down to help everything stick together.
- Cover and bake first round: Cover the sliders tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes to warm through and melt the cheese slightly.
- Prepare butter ranch glaze: While baking, mix the melted butter with the remaining 1 tablespoon of ranch seasoning mix until fully combined.
- Brush butter mixture: Remove the sliders from the oven, discard the aluminum foil, and brush the top of the rolls generously with the butter ranch mixture.
- Bake uncovered: Return the sliders to the oven uncovered and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is completely melted.
- Rest and serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and let them rest for 3-4 minutes. Cut into individual sliders and serve warm.
Notes
- Using rotisserie chicken makes this recipe quick and flavorful.
- You can adjust the buffalo wing sauce quantity to increase or reduce spiciness.
- For a milder version, substitute blue cheese with additional mozzarella or omit altogether.
- These sliders are best served immediately but can be reheated covered with foil to retain moisture.
- To make ahead, assemble but do not bake; keep refrigerated and bake when ready to serve.
