Easy chocolate peanut butter balls made with creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and coated in smooth chocolate. A quick, no-bake holiday treat that's perfect for gifting or snacking!

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 30 balls

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate melting wafers
  • Optional toppings: sea salt, crushed nuts, mini chocolate chips, powdered sugar, coconut, or sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together peanut butter, softened butter, and vanilla extract using an electric mixer.
  3. Gradually add in 1 cup of powdered sugar and mix until combined. Add the remaining ¾ cup powdered sugar and mix by hand until a thick dough forms.
  4. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls using a small cookie scoop or your hands. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Freeze the peanut butter balls for 15 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler until smooth, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove balls from freezer and dip each into the melted chocolate, coating evenly. Use a fork to dip and tap off excess chocolate.
  8. Place dipped balls back on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Top with desired toppings.
  9. Refrigerate for 10 minutes, or until chocolate is set. Store in the fridge.

Notes

  • Use a cookie scoop for evenly sized balls.
  • Peanut butter dough should be thick and hold shape easily—add a bit more powdered sugar if needed.
  • Customize with toppings like sea salt, coconut, or sprinkles for a festive touch.
  • Keep refrigerated for freshness, especially if making ahead.
