Ingredients
Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons Cowboy Butter, melted
- 1 plain unsliced bagel, cut into ⅛-inch-thick rounds
Optional Cowboy Butter Seasoning Variation
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 ½ tablespoons Cowboy Butter Seasoning
- Additional ½ teaspoon Cowboy Butter Seasoning (optional, for bolder flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
- Prepare Bagel Rounds: Slice the plain bagel into very thin rounds, about ⅛ inch thick, to ensure crispiness after baking.
- Coat Bagel Rounds: Place the bagel slices in a bowl. Pour the melted Cowboy Butter over them and gently toss until every round is evenly coated with the flavorful butter.
- Arrange for Baking: Lay the coated bagel rounds in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they do not overlap for even baking.
- Bake: Bake the bagel chips for 15 minutes, flipping them halfway through the baking time to allow both sides to become golden brown and crisp.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the bagel chips cool for a few minutes to firm up before serving.
- Optional Seasoned Butter Variation: If using Cowboy Butter Seasoning, melt 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter and stir in 1 ½ tablespoons of the seasoning. Taste and add an additional ½ teaspoon if you prefer a bolder flavor. Toss the bagel rounds with this seasoned butter and bake as directed above.
Notes
- For best texture, slice bagels as thinly as possible, about ⅛ inch thick.
- Flip the chips halfway through baking to ensure even crispness and browning on both sides.
- Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat on the baking sheet for easy removal and cleanup.
- Adjust the amount of Cowboy Butter Seasoning according to your taste preferences.
- These chips are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days to maintain crispness.
