Ingredients
Mushrooms
- 1 pound cremini mushrooms (cleaned and halved or quartered depending on size)
Seasoning & Marinade
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon soy sauce (or Worcestershire sauce)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon thyme
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the Mushrooms: Place the cut mushrooms in a large bowl. Toss them evenly with olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper until well coated.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and let it preheat for a few minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Arrange Mushrooms: Place the seasoned mushrooms in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding to prevent steaming and sogginess.
- Air Fry Mushrooms: Cook the mushrooms at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes, shaking or tossing the basket occasionally to allow all sides to crisp evenly. Check for a golden brown color and tender interior.
- Serve: Once crispy and cooked through, remove the mushrooms from the air fryer and serve immediately as a delicious side dish or topping.
Notes
- Gently wipe the mushrooms with a damp paper towel to clean off any dirt, then dry them thoroughly to help achieve crispiness in the air fryer.
- Cook mushrooms in a single layer to avoid steaming and ensure they crisp properly. If necessary, air fry in batches.
- Shake or toss the air fryer basket occasionally while cooking so all mushroom pieces crisp evenly.
- Watch the mushrooms closely near the end of cooking to prevent burning and to get your preferred level of crispiness.
