Ingredients
Zucchini Fries
- 2 zucchinis, cut into 1/2 inch x 3 inch matchsticks
Breading
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
- pepper to taste
Instructions
- Organize: Set up your workspace by preparing three shallow bowls for the breading process.
- Prepare breading: In the first bowl, place the all purpose flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs until smooth. In the third bowl, combine the Panko breadcrumbs, freshly grated parmesan cheese, garlic salt, and pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasonings.
- Bread the zucchini fries: Working in batches, take the zucchini matchsticks and coat each first in the flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip them into the beaten eggs, ensuring an even coating, then immediately coat them in the Panko and parmesan mixture. Arrange the breaded zucchini fries on a clean plate and repeat until all are coated.
- Cook: Preheat the air fryer to 390°F. Carefully arrange the zucchini fries in the air fryer basket or tray without overlapping or touching to allow for even crisping. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until they turn golden brown and crispy. There is no need to flip them during cooking. Depending on your air fryer’s capacity, you may need to cook the fries in batches until all are done.
- Serve with dip: Serve the crispy zucchini fries hot with your choice of dips such as ketchup, ranch, or Caesar dressing for a tasty and satisfying snack or appetizer.
Notes
- Make sure the zucchini sticks are cut evenly for uniform cooking.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness.
- Use freshly grated parmesan for best flavor and texture.
- Adjust garlic salt and pepper to your taste preference.
- The zucchini fries are best eaten immediately for optimal crispness.
