Ingredients
Chicken and Seasoning
- 2 pounds chicken tenderloins
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Breading
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
- Vegetable oil spray, for spraying basket and chicken
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F to ensure it reaches the right temperature for crispy chicken strips.
- Season Chicken: Season the chicken tenderloins evenly with kosher salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper to build a flavorful base.
- Prepare Egg Wash: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs and whole milk to create the coating liquid for the breading process.
- Dredge Chicken: Dip each seasoned chicken tenderloin into the egg mixture, then thoroughly coat with bread crumbs to form a crispy crust when cooked.
- Prepare Air Fryer Basket: Spray the air fryer basket with vegetable oil to prevent sticking and for extra crispness.
- Arrange Chicken Strips: Place the breaded chicken strips in the basket in a single layer, avoiding overlap for even cooking. Spray the top of the chicken with vegetable oil to promote browning.
- Cook: Air fry for 10 minutes, turning the chicken halfway through the cook time to ensure both sides are crispy and cooked evenly.
Notes
- Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow proper air circulation and even cooking.
- You can use panko bread crumbs for an even crispier texture.
- Adjust seasoning and cayenne pepper to your heat preference.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, honey mustard, or BBQ.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
