Easter Bunny Mary is a festive and flavorful cocktail perfect for brunch or holiday celebrations. This twist on the classic Bloody Mary features a vibrant blend of carrot juice, pickled flavors, and a house-made spice mix that provides a balanced spicy, tangy, and savory taste. Garnished with colorful vegetables and olives, this drink is as visually appealing as it is delicious.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Spice Mix

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Bunny Mary Mix

  • 2 cups carrot juice
  • 2 tablespoons pickle juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1/2 lemon, juice only
  • 2 teaspoons prepared spice mix
  • 8 oz vodka (divided, add separately)

Garnishes

  • Pickles, chopped
  • Baby carrots, whole
  • Celery, chopped
  • Kalamata olives, whole

Instructions

  1. Prepare Spice Mix: Whisk together black pepper, chili powder, celery salt, kosher salt, and garlic powder in a medium-sized bowl. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired to make it spicier or stronger according to preference. Reserve some spice mix for rimming glasses.
  2. Combine Bunny Mary Mix: In a separate container, combine carrot juice, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, lemon juice, and 2 teaspoons of the prepared spice mix. Stir well to mix all the flavors evenly.
  3. Prepare Glass and Serve: To make one cocktail, rim a tall glass with a lemon wedge and dip it into some of the reserved spice mix to coat the rim. Add ice to the glass, pour in 2 ounces of vodka, then fill with approximately 4 ounces of the Bunny Mary mix. Garnish by skewering pickles, baby carrots, celery, and Kalamata olives and placing them in the glass. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • The spice mix can be adjusted to taste, adding more hot sauce for extra heat.
  • You can double the spice mix to have enough for both the mix and the glass rims.
  • Using fresh carrot juice enhances the flavor but bottled juice works as well.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit vodka and increase carrot juice or add a splash of club soda.
  • Chill the Bunny Mary mix before serving for the best taste.
