These Easter Oreo Truffle Eggs are a delightful no-bake treat combining crushed Oreo cookies with creamy softened cream cheese, shaped into egg forms, and coated in smooth white chocolate. The truffles are decorated with colorful drizzles for a festive touch, making them a perfect sweet snack for Easter celebrations or any special occasion.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

Truffle Base

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 package classic Oreos (or Golden Oreos), crushed

Chocolate Coating and Decoration

  • 2 cups white chocolate, broken into pieces and melted, divided
  • 2 drops of each food coloring (or candy melts or gel food coloring) for tinting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cookie mixture: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and grind them until they become fine crumbs. Add the softened cream cheese and pulse until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Shape the truffle eggs: Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop the Oreo mixture using a cookie scoop or spoon into 1-inch balls, then shape each ball into an egg shape by hand.
  3. Freeze the shaped truffles: Place the shaped egg truffles on the prepared baking sheet and freeze them for 15-30 minutes, or until firm.
  4. Melt and color the chocolate: Melt the white chocolate in the microwave carefully. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the melted white chocolate into each of three small bowls and tint each bowl with a different color food coloring, mixing well.
  5. Dip the truffles: Remove the egg truffles from the freezer and dip each into the remaining melted white chocolate to coat fully. Set them back on the parchment-lined baking sheet and allow the coating to set until firm.
  6. Decorate the truffles: Using a fork or piping bag, drizzle the colored melted white chocolates over the coated eggs in your desired pattern for decorative effect.
  7. Chill to set: Refrigerate the decorated truffles for 1 hour to let the chocolate and truffles firm up completely before serving.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, try using Golden Oreos instead of classic Oreos.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to achieve a smooth mixture.
  • Use a cookie scoop to ensure uniform truffle sizes.
  • If you don’t have food coloring, candy melts can also be used for decorating.
  • Keep the truffles refrigerated to maintain their shape and freshness.
  • Handle the white chocolate carefully to avoid overheating and burning.
