Ingredients
Chipotle Sauce
- 1–6 tablespoons diced chipotles in adobo (adjust to spice preference)
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 3 tablespoons lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 clove garlic
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Fresh cracked pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Add ingredients to blender: Place the diced chipotles in adobo, sour cream, mayonnaise, chopped cilantro, lime juice, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, and garlic clove into a high-speed blender.
- Blend until smooth: Blend all ingredients until the sauce turns smooth and creamy, ensuring the chipotles are fully incorporated for an even flavor.
- Season to taste: Pour the sauce into a bowl and season with kosher salt and freshly cracked pepper as desired. Mix well and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve and enjoy: Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to use. This sauce pairs excellently with tacos, grilled meats, vegetables, or as a dip.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of chipotles to control the spiciness of the sauce.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute sour cream and mayonnaise with vegan alternatives.
- Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to one week.
- If you don’t have a blender, finely mince the chipotles and garlic and whisk ingredients together thoroughly.
