4.1 from 2 reviews

Easy Espresso Lemonade is a refreshing and unique beverage that combines the bright tartness of lemonade with the bold richness of espresso, topped with a smooth, tangy lemon-flavored cold foam. Perfect for a quick energizing drink with a twist, this recipe blends creamy, citrusy, and coffee flavors into one delightful glass.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 drink

Ingredients

Lemon Cold Foam

  • 4 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon curd (homemade or store bought)
  • 1 pinch fine sea salt

Beverage

  • Nugget ice (to fill 16-ounce glass about half full)
  • 7 ounces lemonade (homemade or store bought)
  • 2 ounces espresso

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cold foam: In a glass, combine 4 tablespoons heavy cream, 2 tablespoons whole milk, 1 tablespoon lemon curd, and a pinch of fine sea salt. Use a hand frother to whip the mixture until it becomes thick and creamy. Set aside the cold foam.
  2. Fill the glass with ice and lemonade: Fill a 16-ounce glass about halfway with nugget ice, then pour in 7 ounces of lemonade, creating a chilled base for the drink.
  3. Add espresso layer: Brew 2 ounces of espresso and gently pour it over the back of a spoon into the glass to layer it on top of the lemonade, maintaining separation for a visually appealing layered effect. If layering is not a concern, pour espresso directly into the glass.
  4. Top with cold foam and serve: Spoon the prepared lemon cold foam on top of the layered drink. Before drinking, stir the layers together to balance the tart lemonade, bold espresso, and creamy lemon foam flavors.

Notes

  • Use nugget ice for a better texture and slower melting in your drink.
  • Lemon curd can be homemade or store-bought depending on convenience.
  • If you don’t have a hand frother, a small whisk can substitute but the foam may be less thick.
  • Adjust espresso strength and lemonade sweetness to taste.
  • For a non-dairy version, substitute heavy cream and milk with coconut cream and almond milk, though cold foam texture may vary.
