A quick and nutritious Easy Protein Smoothie perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack. Combining fruit juice, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, protein powder, and frozen fruit, this smoothie packs a protein punch with a creamy, refreshing texture.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

Liquid Base

  • ½ cup fruit juice (or substitute milk for lower sugar and more protein)

Dairy & Protein

  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (or substitute flavored yogurt)
  • ½ cup low fat cottage cheese
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla protein powder

Fruit

  • 1 frozen banana (sliced before freezing)
  • 1½ cups frozen berries (half raspberries and half blueberries)

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients: Slice the banana before freezing and measure out the fruit juice, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, protein powder, and frozen berries.
  2. Combine in blender: Add all ingredients to the blender in the order listed – starting with the liquid base, then dairy and protein, and finally the frozen fruit.
  3. Blend until smooth: Puree the mixture until smooth, stopping and stirring if needed to ensure even blending.
  4. Adjust consistency and flavor: Taste the smoothie and adjust the liquid amount or flavors to your preference before serving.

Notes

  • For a lower sugar option, replace fruit juice with milk or a milk alternative.
  • Flavored Greek yogurt can add extra sweetness and flavor but may increase sugar content.
  • Slicing and freezing the banana ahead of time helps achieve a creamy texture.
  • You can swap the frozen berries with any other preferred frozen fruits.
  • Protein powder choice can be plant-based or whey, according to dietary preferences.
