Ingredients
Wrap and Cheese
- 2 Whole Wheat Wraps (store-bought)
- 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/4 cup labneh cheese (store-bought)
Vegetables and Fillings
- 2 cucumbers, cut into sticks
- 1 onion, cut into thin round slices
- Shredded cabbage (amount as desired)
- Carrots, shredded (amount as desired)
- Pickled cucumbers (amount as desired)
- Pickled jalapenos (amount as desired)
- Soaked fenugreek seeds (optional, to taste)
Sauces and Condiments
- 1/4 cup mint chutney
- Chili sauce (as needed)
- Tomato ketchup (as needed)
- Butter or ghee (for toasting)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Wash and chop the cucumbers into sticks, and slice the onion into thin rounds. Keep all other ingredients ready nearby to assemble the wrap efficiently.
- Spread Chutney and Add Cheese: Place a whole wheat wrap on a plate or chopping board. Generously spread 1/4 cup of mint chutney over the wrap and then sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese evenly on top.
- Add Vegetables and Sauces: Layer the cucumber sticks and onion slices over the feta. Drizzle chili sauce and tomato ketchup according to your taste, then spread the labneh cheese on top.
- Add Optional Ingredients and Roll: If using, add soaked fenugreek seeds for extra flavor. Roll the wrap once, fold the sides inward like an envelope, then continue rolling tightly to enclose all the fillings.
- Toast the Wrap: Heat a tava (flat griddle) over medium heat. Place the wrap on the tava with the folded side down. Add a small amount of butter or ghee around the wrap and let it toast for about one minute until lightly browned and crispy. Carefully flip and toast the other side for another minute.
- Serve: Remove the toasted wrap from the tava. Cut it in half diagonally and serve immediately with extra chili sauce or ketchup on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Use store-bought labneh cheese for convenience, or substitute with Greek yogurt thickened by straining if preferred.
- Pickled cucumbers and jalapenos add a tangy and spicy contrast; adjust the quantity to suit your taste.
- The fenugreek seeds are optional but add a unique flavor dimension to the wrap.
- Whole wheat wraps can be replaced with gluten-free wraps if needed.
- Be careful while toasting the wrap to avoid burning; adjust heat accordingly.
