This Garlic Flatbread recipe is a quick and easy no-knead, no dough flatbread made with a liquid batter. Flavored with minced garlic and fresh coriander, this soft and flavorful flatbread is perfect for a snack or accompaniment to meals. The batter is simply mixed and then pan-fried, making it a fuss-free, delicious treat ready in just 25 minutes.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 3 servings

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 200 g All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Minced garlic

Wet Ingredients & Flavorings

  • 380 ml Water
  • 1 tbsp Melted unsalted butter
  • 2.5 tbsp Chopped coriander

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a container, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and minced garlic thoroughly to ensure even distribution of flavors.
  2. Add liquids and herbs: Pour in the water, then add the melted unsalted butter and chopped coriander. Mix everything well until you have a uniform liquid batter.
  3. Heat the pan: Place a pan over medium heat and add a teaspoon of oil to prevent sticking and promote browning.
  4. Cook the flatbread batter: Using a large spoon, scoop two half spoonfuls of batter into the pan per flatbread. Fry each side for 1 to 2 minutes until light golden.
  5. Flip repeatedly: Turn the flatbread back and forth 2 to 3 times to cook evenly. Watch for bubbling; when bubbles appear, increase the heat to high to create larger bubbles.
  6. Repeat: Continue the cooking process for the remaining batter to make additional flatbreads.

Notes

  • This flatbread uses a liquid batter, so there is no need for kneading or resting dough.
  • Adjust the heat carefully to avoid burning while ensuring the flatbreads are cooked through.
  • You can add extra herbs or spices like cumin or chili flakes for variation.
  • Serve warm with dips, curries, or use as a wrap base.
  • Oil quantity can be adjusted based on dietary preference.
