Ingredients
Garlic Butter
- 8 Tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Grilled Cheese
- 12 slices white bread
- 6 Tablespoons pizza sauce
- 36 pepperoni slices
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Make Garlic Butter: In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in the microwave. Stir in the extra virgin olive oil, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder until well combined to create the garlic butter.
- Prep Skillet: Place a 10-inch skillet or pan on the stovetop and preheat it over medium-low heat to ensure even cooking for the sandwiches.
- Prepare Grilled Cheese Sandwiches: Lay 6 slices of white bread on a cutting board and brush one side of each slice generously with the garlic butter. Flip the bread slices over and spread 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce on the unbuttered side. Top each with 6 slices of pepperoni and then a quarter cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Cover with another slice of bread to form sandwiches.
- Cook Grilled Cheese: Place each sandwich in the preheated skillet with the garlic buttered side down. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the bread turns golden brown. Carefully flip each sandwich and cook the other side for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown and the cheese has melted. Remove from skillet.
- Serve: Transfer the grilled cheese pizzas to a plate, cut each sandwich in half, and serve warm for a delicious and satisfying meal.
Notes
- Use medium-low heat to avoid burning the bread before the cheese melts.
- You can substitute white bread with whole wheat or sourdough bread for variation.
- For a vegetarian version, omit pepperoni and add vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms.
- Leftovers can be reheated in a skillet or sandwich press to regain crispiness.
