This Healthy Spinach Smoothie is a vibrant and nutritious blend packed with fresh spinach, tropical fruits, and a refreshing hint of lime. Perfect for a quick breakfast or an energizing snack, this smoothie combines natural sweetness with protein and fiber to keep you satisfied and revitalized.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

Produce

  • 3-4 cups fresh spinach (packed)
  • 1 banana (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup chopped tropical fruits (fresh or frozen)
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

Liquids

  • 1 cup orange juice (no sugar added)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any other non-dairy or dairy milk)

Optional

  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional, for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Prep: Wash the spinach thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt. Peel the banana and set aside. Zest the lime carefully, ensuring only the green part is removed to avoid bitterness. Measure the remaining ingredients and have them ready.
  2. Blend: Place all the prepared ingredients including the spinach, banana, chopped tropical fruits, lime juice, lime zest, orange juice, unsweetened almond milk, and protein powder (if using) into a high-speed blender. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring there are no lumps or chunks.
  3. Serve: Pour the smoothie into serving glasses. If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, drizzle maple syrup or honey on top or blend it in. Enjoy immediately for the best flavor and nutritional benefits.

Notes

  • Use frozen fruits for a thicker smoothie and a chilled drink without ice.
  • The protein powder is optional and can be omitted or substituted based on dietary preferences.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup or honey according to your taste.
  • Substitute almond milk with any other plant-based milk or regular milk if preferred.
  • Consume the smoothie right away to maximize freshness and nutrient intake.
