Ingredients
Dairy Base
- 16 ounces Sour Cream
- 8 ounces Whipped Cream Cheese (room temperature)
Seasonings and Mix-Ins
- 1 packet Dry Ranch Dressing Mix (1 ounce)
- ¼ tsp Garlic Powder
- ¼ tsp Onion Powder
- 1/8 tsp Celery Salt
- 2 tsp freshly squeezed Lemon Juice
Vegetables and Herbs
- 1 ¾ cup Finely Chopped Dill Pickles (8 ounces total, divided, reserve 3 tbsp for garnish)
- 1 heaping tbsp Fresh Dill (finely chopped, plus more for garnish)
- 1 heaping tbsp Fresh Chives (finely chopped, plus more for garnish)
- ¼ cup Celery (finely chopped, about 1 small rib)
Crunchy Topping
- ½ cup Panko Breadcrumbs (toasted and divided, reserve 1 tbsp for garnish)
Instructions
- Mix base ingredients: In the bowl of a food processor or using a hand-held mixer in a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, whipped cream cheese, dry ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, celery salt, and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Process or beat until the mixture is creamy and smooth, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides and bottom to ensure even blending.
- Fold in pickles and herbs: Add the finely chopped dill pickles (reserve a small amount for garnish), fresh dill, fresh chives, toasted panko breadcrumbs (reserve some for garnish), and finely chopped celery to the creamy base. Gently stir or fold these ingredients together to combine without overmixing, maintaining a nice texture.
- Refrigerate (optional but recommended): Cover the dip securely and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld together. For best, most developed flavor, refrigerate for about 8 hours or overnight.
- Serve and garnish: Before serving, taste the dip and adjust the seasoning with kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper if needed. Garnish the top with the reserved chopped pickles, fresh dill, chives, and toasted panko breadcrumbs for added texture and a beautiful presentation. Serve chilled with your favorite chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables and enjoy!
Notes
- Using freshly squeezed lemon juice brightens the flavors and balances the creaminess.
- Chopping the dill pickles finely ensures they blend well but still provide a pleasant texture.
- Toasting the panko breadcrumbs adds a satisfying crunch to the dip.
- Refrigeration for at least 8 hours enhances the depth of flavors, though you can serve sooner if needed.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to your taste before serving.
