Ingredients
Dip Ingredients
- 2 (8-oz) packages cream cheese, softened (reduced fat recommended)
- 1/2 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
- 1 cup buffalo hot sauce (such as Frank’s)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 3 cups cooked chicken, diced or shredded (rotisserie chicken works great)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
For Serving
- Additional honey, for drizzling
- Chopped scallions
- Chips, crackers, or veggies
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to get ready for baking the dip.
- Mix Cream Cheese and Sauces: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, ranch or blue cheese dressing, buffalo hot sauce, and honey. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy with no lumps.
- Add Seasoning and Chicken: Stir in the garlic salt, diced or shredded cooked chicken, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- Prepare for Baking: Spread the mixture evenly into a 9×13-inch baking dish or an ovenproof skillet. Top the dip with the remaining cheddar cheese.
- Bake the Dip: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is hot, gooey, and bubbly around the edges.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped scallions and an extra drizzle of honey, ranch, or hot sauce to taste. Serve warm with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping.
Notes
- Using reduced-fat cream cheese does not significantly affect the taste but makes the dish lighter.
- Rotisserie chicken is a convenient shortcut and adds great flavor.
- Adjust the amount of hot sauce and honey to suit your preferred level of spice and sweetness.
- For a stronger cheese flavor, use blue cheese dressing and add some crumbled blue cheese on top.
- The dip can be made ahead and refrigerated; reheat in the oven before serving.
