This refreshing Iced Mocha recipe combines a rich homemade mocha chocolate sauce with cold brew coffee and milk to create a perfectly balanced, cool treat. Easy to prepare and customizable with your preferred milk, this iced mocha is an ideal pick-me-up for coffee lovers seeking a chocolate twist in their cold beverage.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 5 servings

Ingredients

Mocha Chocolate Sauce

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar (granulated or coconut sugar)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup mocha sauce (homemade, from above)

Iced Mocha Drink

  • 2 cups cold brew concentrate
  • 1 cup cold milk of choice (dairy or plant-based)
  • Ice, as needed

Instructions

  1. Make the mocha chocolate sauce: In a small saucepan, combine the water, sugar, honey, and cocoa powder. Heat the mixture over medium heat, whisking constantly to dissolve the cocoa powder completely. Once dissolved, bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool completely. Store covered in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  2. Prepare the iced mochas: Pour a few tablespoons of the cooled mocha chocolate sauce into the bottom of each serving cup. Add ice on top of the sauce to chill the glass and beverage.
  3. Add cold brew concentrate: Pour 1 cup of cold brew coffee concentrate into each glass over the ice and chocolate sauce base.
  4. Top with milk: Add 1/2 cup of cold milk of your choice to each glass, adjusting the amount to your taste preference.
  5. Garnish and serve: Optionally, drizzle extra mocha chocolate sauce over the top for garnish and additional flavor. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing iced mocha.

Notes

  • The mocha chocolate sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a dairy-free option, use almond milk, oat milk, or any plant-based milk.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of mocha sauce or milk used.
  • Use quality cold brew concentrate for best coffee flavor.
  • You can double or triple the sauce recipe to have it ready for multiple servings.
