Ingredients
Sauce Ingredients
- ⅔ cup real mayonnaise
- 4 tablespoons whole grain mustard
- 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- 2 teaspoons dried snipped chives
- 2 teaspoons all purpose creole seasoning
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a small bowl or large measuring cup, whisk together mayonnaise, whole grain mustard, prepared horseradish, ketchup, lemon juice, dried parsley, dried snipped chives, creole seasoning, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar until smooth and well blended.
- Chill for Flavor: For enhanced flavor, cover the sauce and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving to allow the ingredients to meld together.
- Serve: Use the remoulade as a zesty dressing or dip for fish, crab cakes, burgers, vegetables, or any dish that could use a spicy, tangy boost.
Notes
- Adjust the sugar amount or omit based on your preferred sweetness level.
- Storing the sauce in the refrigerator improves the flavor as it allows the spices to blend deeply.
- This sauce keeps well in the refrigerator for up to one week in an airtight container.
- For a fresher taste, substitute dried herbs with fresh parsley and chives if available.
- Use real mayonnaise for best texture and taste, though light mayo can be substituted for a lower-fat option.
