4.1 from 7 reviews

This Marry Me Tofu Sauce is a creamy, flavorful vegan sauce made with silken tofu and sun-dried tomatoes. It’s easy to prepare, blended to a smooth consistency, and gently heated to bring out its rich taste. Perfect for serving over pasta, vegetables, or crispy tofu, this sauce is a delightful dairy-free alternative packed with savory and smoky flavors.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 16-oz block silken tofu (drained)
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes (packed in oil, drained)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • ¼ to ½ cup vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. Blend: In a blender, combine the silken tofu, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, nutritional yeast, salt, crushed red pepper flakes, oregano, smoked paprika, and ground black pepper. Begin blending and gradually drizzle in the vegetable broth until the sauce reaches a smooth, creamy, and saucy consistency. This should take about 2 minutes.
  2. Heat: Transfer the blended tofu sauce into a medium saucepan and place it over medium-low heat. Cook the sauce, stirring frequently, until it is warmed through and starts to steam, approximately 8 to 10 minutes. This will help meld the flavors and achieve the perfect warm sauce texture.
  3. Serve: Pour the warm Marry Me Tofu Sauce over cooked pasta, steamed or roasted vegetables, or drizzle over crispy tofu for a satisfying, tasty meal. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • To make crispy tofu, press extra-firm tofu to remove excess moisture, cut into cubes, and pan-fry or bake until golden and crisp before serving with the sauce.
  • The sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil add richness; if using dry sun-dried tomatoes, rehydrate them before blending.
  • You can adjust the amount of vegetable broth to modify the sauce thickness to your liking.
  • This sauce is a versatile dairy-free, vegan alternative to creamy tomato sauces.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently on the stovetop.
