These Quick & Easy Sheet Pan Breadsticks are a perfect homemade bread treat, featuring a soft, buttery dough topped with Parmesan, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning. Made on a single sheet pan, they are simple to make and ideal for snacks, appetizers, or alongside your favorite meals.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 34 minutes
  • Yield: 24 servings

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1½ cups warm water (105° - 115° F)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • 3¾ cups all-purpose flour

Topping

  • ⅓ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1½ tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: Add warm water, yeast, sugar, and salt to a large mixing bowl. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes or until the mixture becomes bubbly, indicating the yeast is active.
  2. Mix Dough: Using the dough hook attachment on a mixer, slowly add the flour. Mix until a loose dough ball begins to form.
  3. Proof Dough: Cover the bowl with a dish towel and let the dough proof for 30-45 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) to prepare for baking.
  5. Prepare Pan: Line a sheet pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Melt the butter and pour half of it evenly on the pan’s bottom.
  6. Shape Dough: Place the dough in the center of the sheet pan. Press the dough outward from the center to the edges of the pan until it evenly covers the bottom.
  7. Add Toppings: Pour the remaining melted butter over the dough’s surface, then evenly sprinkle Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning on top.
  8. Second Rise: Let the breadsticks rest for 15-20 minutes to rise about 1 inch.
  9. Cut Dough: Use a pizza cutter to slice the dough into breadstick-sized strips, cutting to your preferred size.
  10. Bake: Bake the breadsticks for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges turn slightly golden.
  11. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the breadsticks cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure water temperature is between 105° - 115° F for optimal yeast activation.
  • You can substitute melted butter for olive oil if preferred, but butter adds richness.
  • For a variation, try adding chopped fresh herbs or red pepper flakes to the topping.
  • Allow dough to proof adequately; under-proofing may result in dense breadsticks.
  • Store leftover breadsticks in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best texture.
