Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 lb Zucchini (~2-3 medium zucchini; sliced slightly less than 1/2 inch thick)
- 1 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1/4 tsp Sea salt (to taste)
- 1/8 tsp Black pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Heat the oil: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering to prepare for sautéing the zucchini.
- Cook zucchini slices: Add the zucchini slices in a single layer (some overlapping is fine, but not multiple layers). Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring just once or twice to allow browning without constant stirring.
- Add butter and garlic: Reduce the heat to medium-low. Push zucchini to the sides of the pan, create an open space in the center, add butter and wait for it to melt. Then add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Combine and season: Once garlic is aromatic and starting to brown, stir everything together gently. Season with sea salt and black pepper and stir until the butter is absorbed into the zucchini.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the pan to allow zucchini to brown properly.
- Stirring sparingly helps achieve a nice caramelization on the zucchini.
- You can adjust salt and pepper seasonings to your preference.
- For extra flavor, you could sprinkle some fresh herbs like parsley or basil after cooking.
