Ingredients
Fruits
- 1 ½ cups strawberries, fresh or frozen, or raspberries, or a mix of the two
- 1 very ripe banana (can substitute with one heaping cup cut mango)
Vegetables
- 1 sweet red bell pepper, washed and deseeded
Other Ingredients
- 1 cup plain almond milk
- 2 tablespoons nut butter (optional)
- Ice (to desired consistency)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Wash and deseed the sweet red bell pepper, peel the banana (or prepare the mango), and measure out the berries and almond milk. If using frozen berries, there's no need to thaw.
- Blend Smoothie: Place the strawberries or raspberries, bell pepper, banana (or mango), almond milk, and nut butter (if using) into the blender. Blend until smooth, ensuring all ingredients are fully combined.
- Adjust Consistency: Add ice or more almond milk as needed and blend again until you reach your preferred smoothie thickness.
Notes
- Using a high-speed blender like a Vitamix will give the smoothest texture.
- If your blender is less powerful, blend in stages to ensure even blending.
- Nut butter adds protein and creaminess but can be omitted for a nut-free option.
- Use ripe banana or mango to add natural sweetness without extra sugar.
- Adjust the amount of ice and almond milk based on your desired thickness.
