Ingredients
Slider Assembly
- 1 package rolls (12 in a pack)
- 12 slices Swiss cheese (divided)
- 3 cups cooked leftover turkey (chopped or sliced thinly)
- 1 cup cranberry sauce
Butter Mixture
- 1/4 cup butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons dried basil (divided)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Prepare Baking Dish: Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with aluminum foil and spray it with nonstick cooking spray. This helps prevent sticking and eases cleanup.
- Slice Buns: Use a bread knife to slice the buns horizontally. Place the bottom halves of the buns evenly in the baking dish.
- Add First Cheese Layer: Layer half of the Swiss cheese slices (6 slices) on top of the bottom buns to create a cheesy base.
- Add Turkey: Scatter the chopped or thinly sliced cooked turkey over the cheese layer evenly.
- Add Cranberry Sauce: Spoon 1 cup of cranberry sauce evenly over the turkey layer to add a flavorful sweetness.
- Add Second Cheese Layer: Layer the remaining Swiss cheese slices (5 or 6 depending on availability) over the cranberry sauce for more gooey cheese.
- Top with Buns: Place the top halves of the buns on the sliders and press down gently to compact the layers.
- Prepare Butter Mixture: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe dish for 30 to 60 seconds until smooth. Stir in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and half of the dried basil (1 tablespoon).
- Pour Butter Mixture: Drizzle the prepared butter mixture evenly over the top of the sliders to add flavor and moisture.
- First Bake: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes to warm through.
- Brown the Tops: Carefully remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the tops of the sliders turn golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Slice and Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and slice into individual servings. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Use leftover turkey for convenience and added flavor.
- Adjust the amount of cranberry sauce based on your preference for sweetness.
- If Swiss cheese is unavailable, provolone or mozzarella can be good substitutes.
- Make sure to cover the baking dish initially to prevent the sliders from drying out.
- For extra herb flavor, sprinkle remaining dried basil on top before baking uncovered.
