Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispie Treats combine the colorful crunch of Fruity Pebble cereal with sweet, gooey marshmallows and butter, creating a delightful and nostalgic no-bake dessert that’s perfect for parties, snacks, or anytime indulgence.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 9 servings

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 5 cups Fruity Pebble cereal
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cereal and pan: Pour 5 cups of Fruity Pebble cereal into a large mixing bowl and set aside. Lightly grease an 8x8-inch pan using nonstick spray or butter to ensure the treats don’t stick.
  2. Melt butter and marshmallows: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt 1/4 cup salted butter. Once melted, add 4 cups of mini marshmallows. Stir constantly until the marshmallows are fully melted and the mixture becomes smooth, which should take about 3–5 minutes.
  3. Combine marshmallow mixture with cereal: Quickly pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the Fruity Pebble cereal. Use a rubber spatula to stir gently until every piece of cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Transfer and press the mixture: Transfer the coated cereal mixture into the prepared 8x8-inch pan. Using a piece of wax or parchment paper, press the mixture evenly into the pan. Be careful not to press too hard to keep the treats light and chewy.
  5. Cool the treats: Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature for about 20–30 minutes. For faster cooling, you can place the pan in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes.
  6. Cut and serve: Once fully cooled and set, cut the treats into 9 equal squares and serve immediately for a colorful, chewy snack.

Notes

  • For easier cleanup and to prevent sticking, use a rubber spatula and wax or parchment paper when pressing the treats into the pan.
  • Do not over-press the mixture to maintain a light, chewy texture rather than a dense bar.
  • If mini marshmallows are not available, regular marshmallows can be chopped into smaller pieces before melting.
  • Store leftover treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
  • To add extra flavor, consider stirring in a teaspoon of vanilla extract when melting the marshmallows.
